Michigan Atheists Annual Godless Picnic

Celebrating the Summer Solstice

WHEN:    Sunday, June 14, 2009

TIME:      We will gather at Noon till???

WHERE:  Waterford Bend Shelter in Hines Park

Pack your picnic basket – bring your days eats and something to share.  We will provide cups, plates,

napkins, forks and spoons.

We will also provide a propane grill complete with FREE hot dogs and all the trimmings.

And, yes, you may grill anything you wish – veggies, steaks, chicken or whatever.

You may want to bring musical instruments, lawn games, table games, a lawn chair, bug repellent,

a jacket or umbrella if it looks like rain (though we have a large pavilion).

Very near our pavilion is a handicapped accessible restroom.

The park has a Disk Golf Course near our site and we have two sets of disks for your use.

Don't forget the kids as there is a super play area at our site.

Plan to stay into the evening -- we'll have plenty of daylight. Join us rain or shine.

Directions:

Waterford Bend Picnic Shelter is on Northville Rd at Six Mile Rd , between Northville and Plymouth , in Northville Township .  Unlike most other picnic areas within Hines Park , it is NOT on Hines Drive .  See the directions below:

From the north ( Walled Lake ),

· M-5 south,

· Continue on I-275/I-96 south to exit 170, turn right at end of ramp,

· Six Mile Rd west 2.2 miles, turn right,

· Northville Rd north 0.1 miles to Waterford Bend Picnic Shelter on left.

From the east ( Detroit ),

• I-96 west to about mile marker 173,
• I-275/I-96 north to exit 170, turn left at end of ramp,
• Six Mile Rd west 2.5 miles, turn right,
• Northville Rd north 0.1 miles to Waterford Bend Picnic Shelter on left.

From the south ( Detroit Metropolitan Airport ),

• I-275 north,
• Continue on I-275/I-96 north to exit 170, turn left at end of ramp,
• Six Mile Rd west 2.5 miles, turn right,
• Northville Rd north 0.1 miles to Waterford Bend Picnic Shelter on left.

From the west ( Ann Arbor ),

• M-14 east to exit 20, turn right at end of ramp,
• Sheldon Rd north 1.6 miles, turn right,
• Six Mile Rd east 0.7 miles, turn left,
• Northville Rd north 0.1 miles to Waterford Bend Picnic Shelter on left.
