Action without discussion is dangerous. Discussion without action is futile.

About Michigan Atheists

Michigan Atheists is an affiliate of American Atheists, an organizations whose main purpose is defending the wall of separation between state and church.  Jefferson coined the phrase, "wall of separation", as his interpretation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which reads: "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

While we encourage membership in the national organization, none is required for admittance into our events, and anyone who is willing to join in the fight for our First Amendment rights is welcome.

Your ideas, stories, and examples of activism are welcome.  Please send them to amarie@atheists.org.

We have an e-mail newsletter that concentrates on news and events that effect Michigan's secular citizens.  If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter, please send an e-mail to Michigan_Atheists_Newsletter-subscribe@yahoogroups.com with "subscribe" in the subject line.  If you would like to send in your opinions, news tips, or coming out stories, please use the same e-mail address.

We are currently interested in appointing a Director of Activities.  If you would like to organize political and social events, and you know how to get maximum effect and fun out of a minimal budget, please inquire for details at amarie@atheists.org

If you are an attorney interested in aiding us in defending our First Amendment rights, and you are willing to take cases pro bono, please contact Arlene-Marie at amarie@atheists.org.   We will be sure to refer you to all of our secular friends!
